YNWN - Newman Airport, Western Australia
Donations are welcome. A lot of effort goes into these. Hope you enjoy my mods - Mark.
Note your sim must be up to date with all world updates installed. You do not need any photogrammetry installed, just the base world updates as I borrow scenery from those resources. I also recommend to install the UK2000 Scenery Library which is free in the Marketplace and used by many devs, including my work.
This is the full release of Newman airport, combiing Stage 1 and Stage 2 and is now complete with the surrounding scenery. Newman Airport serves one of Australia's largest mining operations, employing over 1000 people and is one of the more popular mine sites on the FIFO system.
I hope you enjoy this mod, I have attempted to keep as close to the layout as possible, but I have taken the liberty to exercise creative license to make this airport attractive as well as being functional. A lot of extra detail, effort and thought has gone into this one.
V 2.2 ( 24 Jan 24 )
Forced the AI to backtrack the full length of the runway and turn around onto the centreline for departure on runways where they need to do this. There are a number of my airfields that use long backtracks and I am applying the same trick to them too.
Made some other cosmetic corrections/editions, eg gabled markers, road lines, car parks, signage etc.
V 2.3 ( 10 Feb 24 )
Added the airport to the MSFS World Map GUI for visibilty and easier selection.
Added a boundary fence to the entire airfield to keep out the kangaroos.
Added a helipad start for you chopper pilots.
That is definetely the last update for this airfield.
Don't forget to reload your Little Navmap scenery library now and then in order to keep your new airfields accurately portrayed within it. This way all your new taxiway designations are updated among other things.
LNM automatically searches through your community folder during the process which runs in the background so you can keep simming.
From the menu bar of LNM: Scenery Library | Load Scenery Library | press Load. When finished, press Use Database.
Unzip and drop into your Community folder.
