KAUM - Austin Municipal Airport - Austin, MN
Austin is a city in south eastern Minnesota not too far from the Iowa border. The airport has a single runway- 17-35(Concrete, 5800'x100'). It is the home to the Hormel Foods Aviation department which has a couple of business jets. Otherwise it is a pretty standard general aviation airfield on the countryside of southern Minnesota. Lots of flat farmland all the way around.
The stock sim layout wasn't terrible, but it wasn't very accurate either. This modification updates the aprons to the appropriate locations, replaces the AI generated buildings with standard hangars and updated the taxiway designators to the accurate names and taxi signs updated appropriately. Approach lighting was added along with fully hand placed taxi lights.
This airport is also another trial for me to see about getting into the MSFS World Hub. Thus I have created it with all MSFS default scenery objects. Unfortunately, the World Hub hasn't left alpha yet and has only allowed for base layouts and not building updates. So I will release it here with the expectation that when the World Hub allows for new users and additional airport objects then I will try to get it accepted into the game. But the signage and taxiways and taxi lights should all be accurate here with lighting added to the tarmac area with the generic buildings.
Since it's all default objects, no additional downloads needed! Many of the hangars were taken from the Asobo Friday Harbor scenery package (KFHR).
As aways, thanks for flying in Minnesota!
