The Himalayas are the highest montain range on Earth. On this trip, you will see such iconic 8000m summits as the Dhaulagiri, the Annapurnas, Mount Everest, and Kanchenjunga, but you will also discover lesser known valleys, mountains and lakes across this beautiful region.
You will sometimes have to fly at altitudes in excess of 20'000 ft, and negociate high-altitude airports with short runways in deep valleys. You will need the STOL abilities and >25'000 ft operating ceiling of the Pilatus PC-6, as well as its ability to make steep descents in beta mode. If you own the Blackbird version of the PC-6, it will provide you with more realistic flight characteristics.
You will need to manage the amounts of fuel taken on board to avoid overloading the plane, while ensuring you have enough to complete each leg. All airports on the trip provide fuel services. You may have to deviate from the GPS course to manage your ascents and descents, and to stay in valleys too deep to climb out of along the way, so use the AP sparingly if at all for most of the legs of this bush trip. Departures are in cold and dark conditions, follow your aircraft's check lists before taking off. Turn off the engine and the battery power after landing.
