The Northern Japan Alps is the name for the Hida Mountains that extend across Toyama, Niigata, Gifu, and Nagano prefectures.
The main part of the mountain range is designated as Chūbusangaku National Park, and the highest peak of the mountain range is Mt. Okuhotaka, which is the third highest mountain in Japan after Mt. Fuji and Mt. Kita.
This bush trip takes you from Nagano Airfield over the Northern Alps to Hida Air Park in Takayama.
