Before updating, I recommend installing the base model from Wing42.
Changes:
- Improved oil temperature indicator accuracy. The reading of the indicator can be used to monitor the real status of the engine and decide how to operate oil shutters.
- Tweaked engine performance to reach ~189mph during cruise as stated in the manual.
- Generator switched on by default when starting in the apron.
Note on how oil temperature fluctuates:
As indicated in the manual, the changes in oil temperature aren't instant and depend on various parameters. It's important to anticipate the changes in temperature to prevent fatal scenarios. However, based on how it is implemented right now, the radiators will quickly cool down upon opening the oil shutters and take a lot of time to absob heat from the oil. But the transfer of energy between oil and radiators is very slow, that's why it takes a good amount of time for the oil to heat up (and cool down). This means that as soon as oil's temperature stops rising it'll start to slowly cool down for a long period of time.
Generator:
By design, the generator is on and feeding the battery as long as the left engine is running, there is no switch on the cockpit to turn it on/off. But it is internally switched off in the original model. It is possible to turn it on with a key binding but it can be hard to tell if it's on or not, now it is always on when starting in the apron. I haven't tested when spawning airborne.
Instructions:
- Extract wing42_boeing_247d and copy the folder to your Community folder. When asked, replace existing files.
- To install only specific fixes, replace the downloaded files to the Community folder following the same directory hierarchy:

- Oil Fix:
Side notes:
When parked it'll take a while to stabilize the oil temperature to ambient temperature as all system temperatures are initialized 0C.
Feedback wanted:
This is the first time I mod and publish anything. Please let me know your opinion and don't hesitate on requesting changes.
I'm no expert at all on modelling aircrafts and my knowledge of MSFS SDK was non existent a week before attempting to improve this wonderful airplane! So I hope I can slowly improve it over time.

It's not very important, but it's right
GeneratorSwitch=False in your wing42_boeing_247d\SimObjects\Airplanes\wing42-boeing-247d\apron.flt - is it OK?

There are also 2 folders ModelBehaviorDefs. Which one should I use?
Do I understand correctly that with the mod the oil temperature will rise slower and fall lower?

I am still testing it in all possible scenarios but so far so good. Mine did not. Mine was like a "fake" fix to make it look better, but this one I believe has fixed it for real. One question. You use a var called "OIL LINE TO ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE" which is exactly what that needle reads. When I tried to fix it myself I was trying to find where the local vars where strored to understand what the problem was. I never succeded so I improvised. I wouild like to know how did you find the answer. How did you come with the solution? Are you reading another var? Did you modify them? This could be the key to find also the fix for the "no sound while starting engine 2" or the ligths in the panel (the green one and the red one on the right) not iluminating.
I did not change the plane specs, I am only using the temp fix.
