Cessna L-19 Bird Dog Norwegian Army 712
This is a real livery for the Cessna L-19. The Norwegian Armed Forces received 27 Bird Dogs altogether, free of charge, as part of the Military Assistance Program (MAP) between 1960 and 1968. The aircraft were allocated to the various artillery units, which had their headquarters at Setermoen near Bardufoss and Haslemoen in Solør. The Cessna Bird Dog was withdrawn from service in 1992.
The Royal Norwegian Air Force Museum’s Cessna O-1A has the serial number 50-1712 and it was delivered to the U.S. Army in May 1951. The aircraft had accumulated 3,731 flying hours when it was taken over by the Norwegian Armed Forces in 1968. In 1990 it was stored at Værnes Air Station with an accumulated running time of 6,120 hours. After being transferred to the Norwegian Defence Museum it became a part of the Royal Norwegian Air Force Museum and was flown north to Bodø in 1994.
I try to give some parts a little bit „used look“. The comp. files became changed to make it look more real. But this part is new form me and so it is WIP.
I love this Bird. Best wishes to all pilot from Norway and all fans of the Bird Dog.
If you like the livery give some stars or a donation if you want.
Best Wishes and always happy landings :)
