Note: I have tested this livery with the 2.88.9 update of the Virtualcol Embraer E190, and for the most part, it is still working. I investigated improving the texturing before the surprise update; however, the exterior model is now encrypted in the Marketplace version. Unfortunately, it also seems that the UV Mask errors persist with this version (the nose strakes are mapped over the top of the landing gear texture, and the texturing underneath the tail/elevator is also reversed).
If Flightsim Studio releases its version of the E190 in future, I will port the skin over.
Virgin Blue started as a low-cost airline in August 2000, based in Brisbane, Australia. While the core fleet centred around the Boeing 737 product, the airline ordered 20 Embraer E-jets (six E-170s and 14 E-190s), with the first E-170 arriving in September 2007. The E-Jets were operated to smaller regional ports and the busy Sydney to Canberra route.
Pacific Blue Airlines (NZ) was formed as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Virgin Blue Airlines Group in 2003 and operated international services between Australia, NZ and the Pacific Islands (Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, etc.). The airline operated a fleet of Boeing 737-800s; however, internal routes were also covered in 2008 when a small number of E190s were transferred to New Zealand domestic operations. The aircraft retained their Australian registrations. Pacific Blue was renamed Virgin Australia Airlines (NZ) once the conversion to Virgin Australia had been finalised. The NZ operation was wound up in June 2020 as a side-effect of the COVID pandemic, putting Virgin Australia into administration.
All Virgin Blue/Pacific Blue jets received cheeky or playful names, with VH-ZPN receiving the name Kanga Blue - a play on the Australian Animal 'Kangaroo.'
