Landing Zone Oasis (also known as LZ Oasis or LZ Tuttle) is a former U.S. Army base southwest of Pleiku in central Vietnam.
The base was first established in 1965 by the 1st Cavalry Division for the Battle of Ia Drang, just south of QL-19 and approximately 24 km southwest of Pleiku. The base was reopened in May 1966 by Task Force Walker of the 25th Infantry Division. The base was later used by the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.
The base was abandoned by U.S. forces in late 1971.

None of that was there in 1966. Just a shorter rwy than is shown now and it was some sort of plastic/rubber/nylon cover over dirt. Horrible stuff as the water would get under it and create holes you couldn't see when landing. I don't recall a ramp area at all...just a wide spot of more dirt.
Thanks for making the scenery.

I've actually landed there many times. Out of Camp Holloway Pleiku. I flew army Caribous. 135th AVN Co. 1966.

Was that a large helicopter area, SE of the airfield? With the yellow squares? I only drew what I could see.
