VULCAN CFX6:
This is a complete replacement of Vulcan CFX6, the default airport version in MSFS as it is currently not representative of the area at all.
-remapped the entire area with the data I had, to try to create a unique area for the field without seperating it for the fields around it to much.
-The grass runway is more visable and does not clip through scenery
- Added several hanger cold start, fuel point, and runway start options.
- AI traffic should work.
Town & Area
Has a few improvements, including the famed USS Enterprise (oversised for airview)
- Added hundreds of water masks to reflect light.
- Added or removed trees / bushes along streams to improve the realism that there is, indeed, water in central Alberta.
- Added grain silos, camping areas.
Known Issues:
- Runway signs are all over the place, still figuring that out.
- near the airfield, there is a golfcourse that needs to be mapped via Google satellite imagery since its under a cloud in Bing.
CVL2 Kirkaldy Cadet Airfield:
Originally this airfield was a WWII training base that was converted to an fully functional airport and then shut down.
In MSFS this is still a fully functional civiliian airport. Now though it only has one active daylight airstrip and almost exlusivley used by by the Canadian Cadets for glider training.
So I have downgraded(?) the airfield to the current opertional runway for civilian use and removed most of of the parking and ground services.
- Custom Canadian gliders and real use Canadian forces aircraft are at the base
- Alot of unique objects are around the area, and will be increased if time.
- Cold start options are there, as is a runway option. AI can also use them.
- dirtied up the area as it is very much in disrepair.
- added hundreds of water masks to reflect light.
- added or removed trees / bushes along streams to improve the realism that there is, indeed, water in central Alberta.
Known Issues:
There is alot of texture work that needs to be done on the hangars, but I need to get back down there and get some pictures.
Special thanks to mouseaviator for testing the scenery and Wolfgang Piper for use of his glider model
