Paintkit for Kitfox Speedster Series 7
Reviews
UPDATE: This information is more directed at the "New" Livery Developers. There are some "Limitations" you need to know up front, to help you plan your Livery Design.
- If you are planning on using Blender, the glTF 2.0 MSFS importer will not work, you will have to use the .fbx importer, and then manually assign a texture to the Fuselage and Wing.
- The Wings are Mirrored, so what you do on the Wing Texture plate will appear on both wings. So you won't be able to have any variation such as different decals or different embellishments between the Left and right wing.
- You are very limited to what you can do with the Flaperon Hinge Brackets. They are pretty much set to be all one color. In my testing, I was able to assign a different color to the wing side of the brackets (they are all linked to, 2 instances on the Texture plate. I could also change the Comp file so they appeared metallic, however, I have not currently found a way to do the same for the Flaperon side of the hinges, as they are all separate pieces, and they overlap other parts on the Texture plate, which is especially noticeable if you try to adjust the comp file to make them appear metallic. You will end up with ugly metallic blotches on the Flaperon surfaces.
- Also, just a quick side note for any early users of this kit, you will also find some parts, such as the forward cockpit door pilers, in the Silver_ALBD_PNG file...
- While, the developer has updated the kit to include the 3D .fbx file for the exterior model, there is no 3D access to the interior model, so it will be a little more difficult to customize it.
- When you import into Blender, there will be a Wing_Green Texture plate that you will need to also assign a Texture to which will handle the color of the Struts and all associated brackets with those as well as the Hinges for the Flaperons and other various items. This was totally new for me and took some playing with to figure out how it worked along with its limitations!
Edit: Changed my star rating with the addition of the 3D model, makes it much easier to paint. Maybe in the next update the interior FBX could be added for those who like to design their own interiors.

This is additional info on Livery Creation using this Paint Kit. When setting up your Livery Pack, make sure you direct the model.cfg call out to the "model.white" folder. or you will get the decals from the Original Base Livery on the door windows.
