This folder contains a repaint for the Ryan ST-A by A1R Design Bureau. It shows Ryan ST-M c/n 474 VH-RSY . This aircraft was built in 1940 for the Dutch East Indies Navy and arrived in Surabaya in November 1940. It was registered S-38 with the Dutch Navy. Together with all other Dutch Ryans, it was shipped to Australia in early 1942, where they were taken on charge by the RAAF, S-38 becomming a spare aircraft, without a registration. After the war, it became VH-AHE and flew with the Newcastle Aero Club, NSW until 1952 when it crashed near Cobar, NSW. It was struck off the register in 1956. It was rebuilt between 1998 and 2000 and registered VH-RSY. After a spell with the Temora Aviotion Museum (this paint), it is currently owned by the RAAF museum in Point Cook, but still based in Temora. It is still airworthy. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom.
